The items featured here are commonly recognized as popular insect screen specifications. Should you have a specific item in mind that is not featured here, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Aluminum
The items featured here are routinely used as window and insect screen. Aluminum, which is available in a bright aluminum and black aluminum, is extremely popular for those individuals looking for a light weight, easy to work with and corrosion resistant material. Aluminum insect screen is typically only sold in full, 100 ft rolls.
Bronze
Bronze insect screen is often requested by the user wanting a distinctly unique look. Bronze is stronger than a comparable copper mesh and is golden yellow-red in color. It has a high level of corrosion resistance, especially in salt water environments.
Copper
Copper window or insect screen is often requested for unique building projects, including personal residences, luxury hotels and prominent universities. Copper is dark amber-red in color and will develop a patina over time with exposure to water. It is corrosion resistance.
T-304 Stainless Steel
Silver in color, the numerous T-304 stainless steel wire mesh specifications featured here are strong and corrosion resistant.
T-316 Stainless Steel
Silver in color and considered an upgrade to T-304, the T-316 stainless steel wire mesh specifications featured here are strong, corrosion resistant and often used in harsh surroundings, like salt water environments.
Galvanized
Limited in popularity, the galvanized insect screen specification featured here is economical and corrosion resistant. It is silver gray in color and typically less shiny than a bright aluminum insect screen specification.

Due to the intricacies of weaving these items, there are times where commercial bronze is no longer an option and phosphorous bronze must be used to weave. The chemical composition of phosphorous bronze wire mesh differs from bronze wire mesh in that a small amount of phosphorous is included. Phos bronze, as it is commonly referred to in the industry, exhibits physical and anti-corrosive properties slightly superior to copper and brass and has a chemical composition of approximately 94% Copper, 4.75& Tin, and .25% Phosphorous. As a general rule, the weaving limit for commercial bronze is 100 x 100 Mesh, .0045” diameter wire; anything finer, like 150 x 150 Mesh or 200 x 200 Mesh, must be woven in phosphorous bronze. The limit for weaving phosphorous bronze mesh is recognized at 325 x 325 Mesh, .0014” diameter wire. Copper wire mesh is durable in many types of environments. Although it is softer than a similar stainless steel wire mesh, it is also resistant to atmospheric corrosion but attacked by oxidizing agents such as nitric acid, ferric chloride, cyanides, and ammonia acids compounds. Darby’s copper wire mesh is woven to the industry standard, ASTM E-2016-11, is 99.9% pure copper and when exposed to the atmosphere, a patina, or a thin green layer, is likely to develop. The items listed on this website represent many of the most requested specifications of copper woven wire mesh. These items are available from stock or can be custom manufactured. Often grouped alongside galvanized wire mesh, vinyl coated wire mesh is typically used in a wide range of general purpose commercial, industrial and residential projects. Vinyl coating adds an additional protective layer of corrosion resistance. Black vinyl coated remains the most popular and is often used in caging, window and machine guards, tree and plant guards, and vent screens.
